AUTHOR & COACH

Penelope Jean Hayes is the bestselling author of twelve books including the popular titles The Magic of Viral Energy (2020, Morgan James Publishing) and Do Unto Earth (2021, Waterside Productions). She has appeared on television hundreds of times as an expert guest for ABC News, the Dr. Phil Show, and internationally. Her expertise is contagious energy, known as “viral energy,” and she speaks to groups and consults with individuals on how energy is catchy (both light and heavy energy) and this affects relationships and happiness. In 2020, Penelope was granted a U.S. trademark for the term “viral energy.” In sharing the viral energy message, she leads meditation experiences and abstract art classes held in Naples, Florida.

TELEVISION

Yet, Penelope began her television career long before her books were published. Since 2010, she has been an on-camera television talent—five years as Host of a TV segment called Pop News with Penelope on ABC News WCIV-TV, and this included Red Carpet coverage of the 88th Annual Academy Awards. Dr. Phil McGraw said this about Penelope, “A natural on television!” In 2022, she was cast as a Presenter for Season 9 of the series Strange Evidence on Science Channel, a series that was canceled by the network prior to Hayes stepping in. For several years she has been co-creating and pitching television series concepts together with South African conservationist Eugene Cussons, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute SA. Penelope is Co-Executive Producer of the factual TV series titled Rediscovering Africa, which is hosted by Cussons and is currently in creative development. 

RADIO

She hosts the podcast “Penelope” on Spotify and iHeartRadio and has been a network radio co-host. In 2021 she was on the nationally syndicated radio show Coast to Coast with George Noory. Over the years, she has used her distinctive voice for 11 audiobooks published worldwide by Blackstone Publishing and available on Audible, Amazon, and everywhere audiobooks are sold. In its first month of release, Do Unto Earth became the No. 1 bestselling audiobook in its genre; “A must-read book for everyone who cares about the future of humanity and our planet.”—Dr. Ervin Laszlo, two-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee and recipient of the Goi Peace Prize.

As a public speaker, Penelope presents on the topic of viral energy and how we pick up on other people's creativity and both good and bad moods. She explains through fun stories how to use this knowledge for better relationships and even greater career success.

PERSONAL

Penelope is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada and lives in Naples, Florida with her husband, Burton. She is an advocate for the humane treatment of animals and sustainable choices for a healthier environment.
